Well, those hard-working public servants in the State of Michigan are at it
again, desperately trying to justify their salaries by saving citizens from
the ravaging horde of vicious ferrets!

The Kalamazoo Gazette reports that at the July 28 Kalamazoo City Council
meeting, city attorney Robert Cinabro introduced a proposal to 1) limit the
number of household cats to four and 2) ban ferrets. The measure was turned
down by the city council mainly due to opposition from the cat owners in
attendance. Mr. Cinabro said he will re-work the proposal and re-submit it
in 30 to 45 days.

I urge ferret owners in Kalamazoo county to immediately deluge Mr. Cinabro
with polite requests to stop this insanity and nip this proposal in the bud.
His address listed in the Kalamazoo phone book is 234 W. Cedar. If anyone
in the Kzoo area can find out his e-mail address, please post it here.

I have contacted the GLFA with this story and we will be alerting members in
the area. President Miki Wingate offered the opinion that such a measure
may violate the state law legalizing ferrets.

Stay vigilant, citizens of Michigan. They *are* after your ferrets!
Support State Senator Dingell!
