I have been following your enrichment posts have even saved some of them
(waiting for the digests so I can complete the whole series).  In the end
you stated that the enrichments MAY even reduce the cost of veterinary
bills due to a happier ferret.  I can't help but think this is true.  For
people it is.  It has been proven that happier people, such as those that
own pets that act in a therapeutic capacity (whether the people realize
it or not) live happier, longer and healthier lives.  If the intelligence
of the ferret makes them prone to boredom and depression it then would
leave them open to these same related illnesses that people are prone
to.  It only makes sense to stimulate their world (and at the same
time stimulating yours) and giving both the benefit of a richer and
well-rounded quality of life.
 
I have enjoyed these posts immensely (the ones I have read) and can't
wait to complete the package.
