Well, here i go again. I got a message on answering service, this
evening, from the local Humane Society. Seems that someone? brought
in a stray?? ferret? They think it may be mine, my
Eppy/Eppers/Epimetheus???!! IT has been a few months since he has gone
from his home, so i am trying not to become too excited, but...i think
anyone who has had to deal with a stray fur child will understand my
anticipation. IF it isn't my Epper, then another lost fur child has just
be found, and will have a good loving home, here. I will let you all
know, and i just ask that you keep him in your thoughts and prayers, as i
know many of you through personal email have been. I am scared, and yet
excited. My grief is tempered with acceptance to some degree,
understanding that when we are reunited, that it may not be in life, but @
the Rainbow Bridge, and if we are reunited here on this earth, that is is
going to be awhile, gosh it already has been quite awhile.

I have a little lady here, who has a very swollen spleen, we have been
trying to diagnose and treat. she has been ill for a few weeks now, and
cannot seem to put a finger on what is going on with her, so it looks
like the next step is exploratory. My NEW vet, has accepted my
apprehensions, admitting that she has not treated alot of ferrets, and
said she would like to call and consult with another more ferret wise vet
in Kansas??? :-) So, i am willing to let her learn, alongside me...all
about the ferret world.

My sweet Poppy is uncomfortable and i cannot just "NOT" do anything for
her, i had hoped we could avoid the invasive treatment, but...she is
suffering quietly and i w/not let it prolong itself. It w/b scheduled
for 1 week from this Thursday, so i can arrange for time off, to
"hover"...when she is home. I have a few more who are good candidates for
future surgeries... (adrenals) after $700+ invested in Poppy and Bandits
treatment...that i am still paying for, yes this is all out of pocket..
thank goodness i have a wonderful? husband...who doesn't complain where
the money goes...we just keep on keeping, on. And are both thankful that
we can work, and still have our jobs to boot. I am hoping for Crimson
that she has just blown her coat, for the time...she is a beggar...but
even with her coat a rough looking as it is she is prescious...a proper
lady, in any attire...the look never changes...

Thanks to all of you for keeping my Eppy in your thoughts and prayers...
tomorrow is going to be a very very long day for me, unless i can coerce
them into letting me take a long lunch break to run up there and check out
this ferret, my daughter will otherwise stop on her way home from work, i
am done working 1 hour before they close...must call them right away
tomorrow though and let them know i got the message...

Respectfully, to all
In hope of a happy reunion...
Donna
