99% of the time when you see the orange discoloration in the fur, it is
because they are being fed cheap/bad food with loads of dyes that seep into
the fur.  Purina Cat Chow seems to be a big culprit of this, so do some of
the store brand foods.  Regretfully some backyard breeders, and even some
of the bigger hobby breeders continue to feed crap food to the ferrets in
their care.
