Remember, too, that not only does that study not apply this year given
that swine flu is protected against in this year's vaccine, and that
the unusual effect was seen nowhere else in the world, and that the
study has not had its methodology and numbers checked yet, but also
that ferrets get influenza. Using the injected vaccine on human family
members will protect ferrets as well as people, but if you use the
nasal vaccine know that you will shed the virus for a while and can
infect others. Many viruses, apparantly including at least some
influenzas can cause viral shedding before distinctive symptoms so
logical cautions like sufficient hand washing after blowing nose,
not coughing or sneezing in ferret faces, etc. just are logical.
