Shelley,
It is quite probable that indeed your ferret suffereed a stroke.  While I am
merely a shelter Mom-- I AM NOT A VET - I have other ferret friends who have
lost ferrets in this manner.  Presently, I have a friend who has a ferret
who survived a stroke, losing the ability to use the front paws and legs.
She ( the ferret) pushes herself with the hind end and torso-- but will
still consume "soup".  If the heart checked out A-OK by your vet, then I
would suspect that is the case with your "kid".
