I just recently adopted a baby (7 week-old) ferret. He's a great little
guy. He's a red-eyed white--albino-- (named Sculley--from the x-files,
looking for aliens...) the only problem being i have another ferret
(Loki-about 7-8 mos.). I know that they have to have their "who's the
boss" argument but I'm worried about a few things:

1) when do I intervene? I try to gage it by how loud sculley gets,
although he's always pretty vocal, even when they're not fighting. Loki
was never as vocal. I kinda feel bad for both of them. I know the little
guy can be a pest to Loki, but I also don't want Sculley to feel like I
brought him home to be abused by my older (and bigger) ferret!

2) Are you guys SURE they won't injure each other? (they're both
neuterd/descented males) BOY do they LOOK like they're killing each
other!!! (or more accurately, Loki looks like he's KILLING Sculley,
the baby!!) Sculley is pretty slow (and small).

3) Litter box. Knock on wood he keeps this up, but the little guy just
seems to know instinctively all about the litter box concept. Only one
accident in five days! Loki was beginning to get the idea before we got
the new guy. Now Loki seems to be showing us his disapproval of the new
ferret by pooping where ever he pleases again! The litter box has mostly
Sculley's poop, and I'm worried that Loki might think that it now belongs
to Sculley. There are other litter boxes in the house but Sculley has been
so good, he's used them all!! (I know this should make me jump up and
down...but cleaning after Loki again is really frustrating especially since
HE WAS starting to use it regularly.

4) Sculley is VERY vocal. He just has so much to say he just dooks all the
time. Loki never had too much to say. Is this normal? (Loki was the first
ferret I ever had.)

Any help/advice you can offer would be LOVED!!! Thanks!

-Jenn (that's me....) "come on guys break it up! BREAK IT UP!!!"
-Loki "Will someone get this white thing with teeth away from me!!"
-Sculley "I just know there's aliens around here somewhere..."
