Hi!
In my personal experience with MY ferrets...it made absolutely no
difference...I have had 2, 3, and now 4...
 
It just seemed if there was 2...they played with each other...
 
If there were 3...they all play together, or 2 would play while one slept...
or if 2 are asleep and 1 is awake, it plays with me or terrorizes one of
the cats...
 
With 4...they all play together...or 2 by 2...or 3 in one place...1 doing
something else...or if 3 are asleep and one is awake, it plays with me or
terrorizes one of the cats...
 
I ALWAYS recommend at least 2...you do not always have time to be 1's
only entertainment...but anything over that is wonderful!!!!...they will
work out their own play/sleep schedules...
 
Every ferret is different...and every "family" is different, so you will
definately get differing opinions on this... :)
