For all those interested:
Some of the Ferret Magazines published have led the rest of the country to
believe and even some Ferret partners in Salt Lake County to believe that
the owning of Domestic Ferrets is legal.

Well I hate to tell you that they are not. The United Ferret Organization
has been pursuing this issue for over three years and we have written an
ordinance that is sitting on the desk of the country attorney. Of course
this is where the last ordinance died.

So for all the Ferret owners out there who read this, the truth to the
matter is this: FERRETS ARE STILL VERY ILLEGAL IN SALT LAKE COUNTY, UTAH.
Even though they are legal to sell in one of the cities inside of Salt Lake
County. That city is Taylorsville, Utah. The two pet stores in that city
got an ordinance passed that allows them to sell Ferrets to anyone who buys
an exotic animal license for $150.00. Of course they are not checking for
this license when they sell them. If you are caught with a Ferret in
Taylorsville, they will euthanize the animal.

The Pet Stores, Marks Ark and Critters don't seem to mind that as long as
they get the sale. U.F.O. has contacted them several times about this and
they are not concerned.

So if you live in Salt Lake County or plan to move to this fast growing
city. Remember to hide your Ferret. They are not welcome here. Atleast
not by the local and lazy politicians

United Ferret Organization. Dedicated to the protection of the domestic
ferret and the education of others about the wonderful companions they make.
