I had a brief question about litter and odor. I've switched from clumping
litter to the recycled newspaper pellets, and have noticed a subsequent
change in smell - a 'bitter' edge where there was none before. Since i'm
moving with three ferrets into a new apartment soon, i want to make sure i
keep various odors within check. Currently i clean litter boxes out every
day or every other day, depending on the ferret (Noodle eats and poops
twice as much as everyone else) and wash bedding and cage towels about once
a week. I mix baking soda with the litter in the box corners where the
ferrets go the bathroom. They get baths as necessary (either once a month
(potpie) or more frequently (noodle, who plays in his litter box, iew) or
less frequently (friday, who hath no odor)) but individual smells arent
often a problem - just litter boxes. Any suggestions? Anyone know of
problems with adding baking soda (about once a week).

Thanks!
