After almost a year with no problems, I've not been getting the list
and contacted Bill directly to inquire about it to see if the problem
was on that end or on mine.

He replied that some members with hotmail addy's were not receiving it
and that he was not getting anything bounced back so he had no idea
what the problem was. I checked my settings and have the list's addy in
my contacts, so I couldn't think what the problem might be, either. The
'no bounces' really had me confused, too. I also wasn't seeing anything
in my junk folder - which is where anything quesionable should be going
as per how I have it set.

So, after going through all the extended what-all to get in touch with
hotmail support, I put in a request for help. I received a reply pretty
quickly (surprisingly ;) ) and did some further checking of few things
with the settings. Some of this was mentioned in the reply and others
I just decided to take a look at.

From your hotmail inbox screen, click on the options button that's on
the upper right-hand side.

Go to 'safe & blocked senders' and then to 'safe mailing lists' and
make sure to add the fml addy to the list of safe mailling lists...also
make sure the addy is in your contacts, too (can't hurt to have the
double protection).

I added the addy to the safe mailing list list and wasn't sure I'd get
it because I did it within a half hour of when I usually get the list -
i thought it might take a day or two for it to filter through the
hotmail system...went off to bed and when I checked my emails this
afternoon, the list was there (just at it should be).

So, just wanted to let people know that with hotmail, there's this
extra setting that should be set up. I'd not ever had a problem except
when Bill hadn't sent the list out, so I guess hotmail has implemented
a new feature that is now blocking things if you don't have all the
settings situated completely.

I'm sure other isp or email services also have a similar setting, too.
Might be a good idea to check and make sure you've got everything set
properly so that you don't miss a copy of the list.

[Moderator's note: *THANKS* for posting that, I'm sure it will help
others too. It's not always that simple though -- MSN is also having
similar problems (also run by Microsoft, along with livemail) and the
problem is not restricted to the FML -- many other mailing lists aren't
being delivered either. So yes, you're probably correct about new spam
filters being in effect. I hope this helps. BIG]
