Ferretone can go bad.  I couldn't tell by color or smell when our bottle
spoiled, but I noticed once that the few drops we gave the ferrets during
nail-clipping gave them mild diarrhea.  Throwing out that half-bottle and
buying a new one fixed the problem. :)
