to speak up. [As received. BIG] On Wednesday, I got my first very own fuzzy
(I have taken care of many people's ferret's but had never gotten one of my
own). She is a three and a half year old sable and her name is Gumbi. I
adopted her from Pam Grant who runs a shelter near to where I live. I
decided to adopt because after reading so so much about all these babies who
need homes - how could I ignore that! Eventhough I first had my
reservations about getting an adult ferret (I was mostly worried about
previously obtained "bad" habits), tonight as I look over at my new bundle
of joy curled up sleeping I wonder how I could have even considered getting
any other ferret, no matter how tempting or cute they were.

I have a question for anyone who is still reading this enourmously (sorry!)
letter, Gumbi is so tiny - Any suggestions on fattening her up? She's not
built or anything - Could it just be that she's "petite"? Or could it have
anything to do with the adrenal surgery she had in august? Any comments,
please let me know.

Before ending this letter, I suggest we all give a salute, or a good pat on
the back will do, to all those who run or help maintain our shelters. They
put in hours and hours of work. It really takes dedication and a great love
of ferrets. Ya'll do a GREAT job! Keep up the good work!

Well, I've had my say (yes, lengthy it was) so I guess I'll go now. Bye.

oh, and my husband Todd

My condolences to all who have sick fuzzies and to those who have
passed over the Rainbow Bridge (including Racy - I'm so sorry!) I'll
make sure to say a prayer for everyone.
