Ferret shelters in Seattle?

Hello,
I am from California, as most of you know ferrets are illegal here but I
got one anyway, I couldn't resist.  I bought one from a petstore in Seattle
and I have enjoyed him ever since.  I want to get another in the next few
months (I often make trips to Seattle)but I would like to get one from a
shelter.  Will shelters let have one if they know that I am taking it to
California?  Anyone have a name of any shelters in that area?
