To Jennifer

Our Whidbey who will be six yrs old next month had her second adrenal
surgery last Friday. And is recovery like a real trooper.

Her left gland was removed last March, and she showed a little improvement
in engery, but her vulva never went down & her hair didn't go back. In
July, we tried Lysodren, but she seemed to get worse & was loosing more
hair. We stopped that, scheduled her for surgert, but was cancelled as her
liver enzyme ALT was extremely high & the vet wasn't comfortable. Three
weeks later, her ALT was normal, she had gained weight, grew back all of her
hair & was becoming the mischevious little devil that we once new her to be,
so we decided to wait. October, her vulva started to get slightly enlarged,
end of November it was big & was having slight hair thinning.

Well anyways, as I was initially trying to get at was she had at 50% of her
right adrenal gland removed last Friday. The Dr. said that it was approx.
double in size, but because of how it was situated didn't feel comfortable
in trying to remove any more than that. He also took a sample of her liver.

She was able to come home Saturday afternoon with the orders of total rest
for 10 days. That lasted until Monday. Monday morning at around 4am she
was up being my little sleep disturber. Since then she is allowed out of
her room only when I'm home - and boy does she take advantage of that. She
has no shortage of energy.

Apart from the surgery being successful, we got the lab result back
yesterday and everything was good. No cancer:) The liver tissue showed some
fat in it but they didn't think it to be a problem. I'll ask for a copy of
the report when we go to get the stitches removed next week.

Jennifer, I hope that Nancy's surgery goes as well & the same to everyone
else who is undergoing surgery.
