Hi everyone.  First I'll introduce myself.  My name is Traci and I have two
sable ferts, Chewbacca (Chewie), 2yrs in Nov.;  Crash, 1yr in Oct.  I have
been a lurker for a few weeks and finally found something worth my two cents.
 
I have seen a ferret video in one of the local (Green Bay, WI) pet stores--

I personally have not viewed the tape, so I cannot vouch for the info on it.
 
Also, I am a regular customer at the Petco in my area for ferret supplies.
I take my ferts in with me a lot so that the people looking at the kits can
ask questions.  Not all the employees know a lot about ferrets but they seem
relieved that I can answer some of the customers questions.  Now whenever I
go in all the employees talk to me about ferrets.
 
I am a cosmetologist and keep a picture of my ferts on my station so that
people ask me about them.  I can correct a lot of misconceptions about
these guys and sometimes discourage people who think that they *easy* pets
and would probably just abandon them after the novelty wore off.
 
I guess my point is that if we all do our own little parts as much as
possible, we can help ferrets out there have a better life, whether it be
by improving a store employees understanding of ferrets or helping would-be
owners to be more informed about these lovable animals.
 
Sorry if I rattled on, but once my fingers start they just keep going.
