ferrets and strep throat

Hi, this is Angela Larson.  I was wondering if ferrets are suseptable to
strep throat.  I know they can catch colds from humans, but I didn't know
about strep.  I have it; I don't know whether I should handle my ferrets in
the mean time.  Any information will be greatly appreciated.
