I think someone put the wrong description on the web page and used the
description for a small rodent food.
<http://www.petco.com/product/100587/Kaytee-Fiesta-Gourmet-Food-for-Ferrets.aspx>

Kaytee changed the formula of Fiesta Ferret Food some time ago (as a
result of pressure from the ferret community and some of the ferret
product retailers), removing the pieces of fruits and vegetables that
were of such concern. There never has been hay in it.

Here is a partial list of ingredients: Poultry Meal, Ground Corn, Fish
Meal, Rice, Pork Fat (preserved with BHT), Dried Beet Pulp, Soy Flour,
Egg Product, Corn Gluten Meal, Vegetable Oil (preserved with BHT),
Feeding Oat Meal, Wheat Middlings, Poultry Fat

While not one of the better foods (I wouldn't use it!), it is not all
veggie and hay, and I don't know that the condition of Bobbi's rescues
can be attributed to it. Unless they were being fed one of Kaytee's
rodent products!

Petco, like Petsmart, Ferret Depot and others, has been working to
improve the ferret food and treat products they carry, and is removing
the sugary and fruit/veggie containing treats from their shelves.

I've forwarded your post to the main corporate vet and ferret advocate
at Petco. Hopefully, he can get the page fixed.
