Just a short one here:
 
For nail clipping - Have styptic powder (there are even ready to use
Q-tip type single use ones) on hand (you can also use corn starch in a
pinch too).  If a nail gets accidentally clipped too close to the quick,
it'll stop the bleeding fast.
