Thanks to all who responded to my question about kids and furkids. I'm
glad to learn that even people with human kids spoil their furkids. So
many times I've seen animals get the short shrift in homes with children.
Though I suppose anyone who's interested enough to be involved in this
list would spoil their ferrets.

Humans seem to react very strongly to ferrets-- they either love them so
much that the ferrets are the center of their life or they want nothing
to do with them and can't imagine why anyone would like them. Half of
my friends "get" Rocky and think he's hilarious and sweet, and the other
half are afraid of him and think he's a pain in the butt (or I should
say, "the foot"). My theory is that you have to be in touch with the
little kid inside you to appreciate these furry clowns. I mean, just
look at the way they walk...they're like cartoon characters!

Wysong Archetypal 1: If sweets are so bad for ferrets, why does this food
contain "organic blueberries, organic apples and plums"? Rocky says,
"Because that makes it yummy!" But seriously, can anyone answer this
question? I realize it's a small percentage, but still.

Wysong canned food: I don't know how good it is for ferrets, though it's
supposed to be good for carnivores in general, but Rocky didn't like it.
The chicken flavor smelled like any other commercial canned cat food, and
now that Rocky's had mom's home cookin'--chicken and chicken gravy--he
wants nothing to do with processed canned food. To tell you the truth,
after smelling chicken gravy, I don't like the smell of canned food
either!

Shron & Rocky

P.S. Rocky's starting a new movement called the FFC--Fruit For
Carnivores. All ferrets are welcome to join in the protest for fruit,
fruit and more fruit! Possible activities: raiding the local fruit
stand; stealing mom's wallet and going to the supermarket for fruit;
rummaging through the garbage for fruit scraps; jumping into the fridge
when mom's back is turned and hiding out in the fruit bin. Suggestions
welcome. Help wanted: thieves, distractors, lookouts, high jumpers,
foot biters; experience required.
