Dear fellow Michigan ferret owners,
I am writing this with a very sad and heavy heart. I have been a
dedicated fml member and a proud ferret owner for six years to seven
wonderful ferrets. Three have passed within the past two years and I
am left with four of my very lovely rescues. Life as I knew it changed
dramatically and it took a change for the worse. In the past two years
I have developed a severe allergy to my beloved boys (my throat swells
shut to the point where I can't breath as well as my eyes and my skin
gets swollen too). I don't have the medical health insurance right now
to afford allergy medication, and I am forced to keep contact with them
to a bare minimal, my boyfriend has to clean them out and the spend time
with them.

He is a full time worker that is in college full time and with plans
of reinlisting in the Navy very soon (which it could mean he will go
overseas, we move to california, or having to move into military housing
asap), I am in a college nursing program myself which takes up insane
amounts of time. This has lead me to a very tough decision for us, and
we needed to be unselfish and think about the fuzzies happiness and their
quality of life. We cannot dedicate the hours and time that they need
and deserve.

We ask if there is any ferret fanatics out there with a huge heart that
is willing to take in four amazing boys that are bonded to each other.
Please don't email if you are a new ferret owner or never owned them
before, I will require the new perspective owners will be fully screened
and checked out (I love these guys and won't give them to just anybody ;)
). Heck, I just might come to your house first just to see how ferret
friendly it is! Be assured I will thoroughly interrogate you, because I
need a owner that will keep them in a forever home and love them like
their own children. I will include their cage/food/carriers/bowls/water
bottles/toys/play pen anything I've ever bought them.

One of my boys is a huge handsome cinnamon that one the hearts of quite a
few Detroit rescues members (when I went to a few ferret meets. If any
of you are reading this and offered him a home before and like to take in
three more, please email me) I am willing to send their pictures to
interested owners, so here are their rescue stories:

Brahma (black mitt) - Bought from a Petland three years ago by us. He
was less than four weeks old and would of starved to death because he
had no teeth and they were giving him rock hard ferret food (they didn't
soften it or add kitten milk replacement). He is a chatty boy, and will
dance happily at anything.

Kaluah (cinnamon) - Bought from a garage sale two and a half years ago.
The owners bought him from a flea market, and fed him rabbit pellets for
a month. He supposedly bit their teenage son so they told me they were
going to snap his neck or give him rat poision if nobody bought him. I
couldn't let that happen, so he came home with me on the spur of the
moment. I had him nurtured but he still has his scent glands, he hardly
will poof though. He will give kisses and is a very big person ferret.
He seems almost human-like.

Jinx (roaning panda not deaf) - Three years old he was brought with his
cage mate Spooky. They're were surrendered to us by a woman that knew we
owned ferrets. She kept them in a basement 24/7 (no sunshine) for one
year of their life and lived in a small rusted metal cage that was six
inches high in their own filth. They never bit us and have always been
very sweet boys. Jinx loves to explore and loves to be petted.

Spooky (albino) - Rescued with Jinx, he will sleep heavily like nobody's
business and will chase and play with dogs!

If you are interested in adopting all these guys together and live in/by
Detroit area please email me at [log in to unmask] . Please no
flaming or hateful emails, I am living in my own misery, and I have been
very tormented about this decision. Thank you for your time and reading
this.
