Hi all, Well things here at the shelter is business as usual. We adopted
out 2 ferrets in the last 2 weeks to wonderful homes. We also took in
some wonderful ferrets, including a beautiful pair of 1 yr old albino
boys. They are current on all shots, very healthy and fat! They are
ready for a new home! We are still at the Petsmart on Craig Rd. in Las
Vegas if you want to give us a visit. the number is 938-5880. shelter
phone is 876-8224.

The next 3 weekends at Petsmart we are having photos with Santa, but we
need help, we need some Santas!

The photo package costs 9.95 and $5 goes to Petsmart charities, which
includes 24 Carat Ferret Rescue And Shelter and SOS. so please have your
pets photo taken and if you can help with being a Santa or being a helper
or photo taker please contact me at the above numbers.

i haven't put any one on the Wish Tree from my shelter yet because I'm
having a hard time deciding who to put up. They all deserve presents, but
I will put a few up this week as soon as I can make a decision.

Health update:
Bandit my first rescue is 11 yrs old, he got started in Enacard and we
upped his dose this week and he seems to be doing better. He is now on 3
different meds twice a day.

Brownie my 3rd rescue, she is 7 yrs old, had her exploritory surgery done.
she had her left adrenal taken out, and a biopsy on her enlarged spleen
and her liver. The results are eary stages of lymphoma. she is on Pred,
a liver med, and abs. We are going to do a full blood panal in a few
weeks to see if we should remove the spleen. The lack of a spleen can
lead to anemia so we are not sure on what we are going to do yet. Taz and
Sal got a lupron shot this wek and Taz has insulanoma so he is now on
pred. Al has a mass by the base of his tail on his body that will be
removed this week.

The great news!
Slim Shady is home!! He is my paralized ferret that was stepped on by
former owner. He had is P/U surgery done, so now instead of having to be
squeezed daily to urinate, every few days he gets a low dose of valium and
I place a cathiter (sp) in his baldder via his new peepee, (lack of a
better word) and drain it out. He still may undergo a bladder reduction
surgery but not right away. He will be on various abs for his entire life
due to the bacteria in his urine but he is sure happy to be home. He is
by my feet as I write this and he is nipping my toes and doing his 1/2
body weasel war dance! Only the front end moves!

Sorry for the long post!
Take care all,
CJ
