The Carignan town council agreed last night (Jan.  14) to postpone the vote
about the closing of the FURET MON AMI.  Therefore this shelter, located in
Carignan near Montreal, has been allowed to continue its activity.  The
shelter is located in a house rented by its President, Mrs. Degand.  Her
lease terminates June 31.  The shelter is hoping to be granted another
extension to relocate in a non residential area.  Meanwhile FURET MON AMI
stills rescues and adopts ferrets.
 
I wish to thank you the FML members that took the time to send me a letter
of support of the shelter. They were forwarded to the city.
