It's been a while since I posted, but there have been a few developments
with the kids. First the sad news, then the love story!

Samantha, who was diagnosed with lymphoma last June, was helped across at
the end of May. She was in remission for a year (!!yea Dr. Bock!!) then
got very sick very suddenly, and was clearly not interested in even having
me try to nurse her back to health. My father and I buried her in a little
glade with wildflowers and a creek up in the Rocky Mountains, behind the
house I grew up in. She was a perfect lady, and I still miss having
somebody in the house I could trust not to liberate plants!

On a happy note, I have introduced a bouncing new baby boy to the family.
His name is Zola Miraglos (except to dad, who calls him Frank...). He's
a chocolate sable, with little white dots at the inside corner of his
eyebrows. At 17 weeks he's approaching 3 pounds, so I'm hoping for a big
ol' boy! I've never had a kit before and have -shall we say- had my eyes
opened a few notches with his antics and energy! I brought him home to be
a companion for Zungwoon (aka Zoey) who wasn't so sure about what a good
idea that was. After a few weeks, she learned top notch wrestling style
from him, and is feeling much more in control of the situation. They
spend a few hours a day recreating the WWF throughout my apartment. In
especially stylish encores, they work in concert clearing the tabletop of
glassware and cat food.

Special note to Joyeen Choi - if you're still reading: please email and
we'll get together!
