Gotta fess up here:
It depends on the date and time! And location!

If it happens in front of me and I remember where I last dropped one of
the 24 rolls of paper towels, I immediately run for the NON-bleach and
paper towels.

If it happens on the carpet, I wait until it dries because it is easier
to pick up.

If it is in the ferret cage or pen, I do a daily "poop patrol."

If it is in the ferret room and I have a rough week, I do a weekly
"poop patrol." I also do a weekly run through the rest of the house
to see if there is anything I missed.

If any of the above are unsuccessful or someone is on the way over, I
do move the rugs. However, it is apparent that the ferrets don't care.
So, if I move the rug, they just poop on top of it.

And, for the record, the best thing I have found to help ELIMINATE the
odor is called OdorGone and I buy it online. It runs about $50/gallon,
but my mom can't smell the ferrets or their poop when I use it.
