The province of Quebec has had a ten day in-home quarentine, with vet exams
at the beginning and end of the ten days, since at least 1994, when I
started owning a ferret in Quebec :) I don't remember where I first learned
that information, but it was confirmed by my vet, who wanted to be sure that
I knew about it (great vets, Montreal Exotic Bird and Animal Hospital, if
anyone needs a vet in the Montreal area). I left Quebec nearly a year ago,
so people in Quebec might want to check again w/ their vets or health
departments, but I can't think why it would have changed. There is a
French language web site for ferret owners in Quebec that might have the
information-- I don't have the URL, but I know there's a link from Lorraine
Tremblay's Mustela Canada site.
