the usual treatment for ulcers is both amoxi (antibiotic) and
metrodiazonole (anti-fungal). carafate is used also, sometimes.
some people have even used pepcid ac.

amoxi does not need to be given with food. metro should be because it's
a stronger med...also tastes very nasty and i always mix/hide it in
their gravy so they don't fuss about it.

carafate is used to coat the stomach/digestive tract. this should be
given on an empty stomach and then feed about 30 minutes later.

the carafate will block the absorption of other medications. so, space
out the other meds so that you have at least one hours time before or
after giving the carafate -and remember to wait at least 20; preferably
30 minutes, after dosing with the carafate, before feeding.
