Hello my dear sweet and lovely friends! it's been a good week at the
shelter.
 
On Monday, the shelter took in a very sweet boy named Cracker.  He has
a sad story.  He lost his best friend 3 weeks ago due to a poisoning.
his family didn't think they could manage him so they gave him up to the
shelter.  Cracker is doing great there and plays with all the big boys
in the "Big" group!
 
On Saturday, the shelter took in a very sweet kid named Odo.  He too lost
his best friend to an unknown illness (died in his sleep).  his owner's
father wouldn't allow Odo to be kept at home anymore so Odo's daddy had
to bring him to the shelter.
 
The good news was that on the very same day Odo came into the shelter, he
found a new home!  His new parents drove 4 hours to meet him, rented a
hotel room for the evening to wait the mandatory 24 hours for application
approval and took him home the very next day!  He's happy and loving life
in his new home!
 
Sunshine is back at the shelter from a much needed rest at "Camp Paige".
In her place, auntie Paige has Missie and Pepper who are not doing too
much better.  mommie spoke with the vet who originally saw the pair and
though he noted that Missie was a bit lethargic, she was showing none of
the signs of illness that she has now.
 
The "Put the Fun back in Fund-raiser" b'day bash/fund-raiser was a huge
success!  There was pin the tail on the ferret, card games and spin the
wheel.  the shelter raised a little over $350!!!  YAY!!
 
With many thanks to Jennifer, Mark, Sandy & Katrina for helping out when
mommie needed you at the last minute and to Dr. Al Moroz for donating his
50/50 winnings back to the shelter.
