The mail list software for the FML seems to reject HotMail's variant of
RTF. If you want to send a message to the FML from a hotmail account
make sure the RTF (Rich Text Format) is turned off. The FML format is
pure text in the messages so the fancy colors, fonts and such from the
RTF would get lost anyway. We discovered this helping another FML
subscriber with this very issue.

[Moderator's note: Yes, that's sort of correct. If a post arrives which
is *only* HTML or RTF then it is rejected. Most posts in that format
are accompanied by a plain-text counterpart and in that case the server
throws away the formatted stuff and uses the plain text. BIG]

Does your vet think a different corona virus is causing a different
disease? OR are we now labelling an older known disease with a new name?

IBD as a diagnosis in ferrets seems to be a fad. ECE is not IBD. ECE
is a disease caused by a corona virus if I recall correctly. Stress
certainly seems to be involved in many diseases including ECE. LEss
stressed ferrets seem to have less incidents of ECE and though not
exactly related vaccination reactions in our experience. IBD in humans
is a still not very well understood despite its touching in some form
families familiar to most of us in the ferret community all the way up to
the family of the President of the UNited States. Symptoms between ECE
and the human IBD are similar but I do not think there are real
similarities other than that that have been documented so far. Human IBD
is not apparently a terribly contagious disease but is is an autoimmune
disease.
