Dear Mom Joan,

I am Bridge Greeter No. 421, and I will greet your Sir Kodi. He has
been waiting with Skye and the Receiving Angel because Bridge Greeter
Saraferret has been taking care of some in house issues. Sometimes,
things happen here at the Bridge, and, like any well-run organization,
one of us is dispatched to take care of it. Saraferret was the Bridge
Greeter who was most qualified to handle this issue, and she will be
back on duty in a day or so. In the meanwhile, Sir Kodi has been
waiting so I have sent my currier Oliver to find Angel, Mikee, Chloe
and Honey so they can meet Sir Kodi when he crosses the bridge.

Here he comes now, with Angel.

"Well Oliver, what did you find," No. 421 said. "Where are the rest of
the family, and did you find out where Sir Kodi is?"

"Yes I did," Oliver said. "Skye put Sir Kodi up in his spare room until
a you were available and Mikee, Chloe and Honey are home fixing up a
room for him at their mound. I brought Angel here to greet him with
you."

The three ferrets started for the Bridge just as Bluebird flew into
the yard.

"Hi Oliver, 421, and Angel." She chirped. "We has a ferret, one who has
a title, waiting. Are you going up now?" she asked.

"We are on are way," No. 421 said. "I'm glad Sir Kodi was in good
hands, and his family is building him a room as we speak. Here, hop on
my shoulder and I'll take you up with us."

When they arrived at the Bridge, Skye was there with another ferret.
The two were looking over the edge of a stray cloud. Skye heard the
three ferrets approaching and turned Sir Kodi around to meet them.

"Welcome to the Rainbow Bridge," No. 421 said. "We had a little problem
and I'm sorry you were not greeted earlier."

"Not a problem," Sir Kodi said. "I have been enjoying myself and Skye
here is a wonderful host. I'll want to come back and visit with him if
I can."

"Of course you can come back and visit," No. 421 said. "Oliver here
comes down and visits with Skye often. Your family, Mikee, Chloe and
Honey are fixing up a room for you so only Angel came to greet you."

Just then Angel stepped out from behind No. 421 and Sir Kodi went into
a deep bow. He dooked and dooked and taking Angel's paw, he raised it
to his face and kissed it.

Angel blushed a pretty pink and smiled. Dear Sir Kodi, you are such a
gentleman. I don't remember you being so gallant on earth."

Sir Kodi bowed again and told her he had been reading up on what
ferrets who were knighted did.

"When I get to my room, I shall look up the coat of arms for our family
and set about making one," he said. "But for now, thank you for coming
to meet me," he said in his best voice. "I've been wondering what was
going to happen to me. I've been with the Receiving Angel for days now,
and I am so glad to see you."

Angel blushed again.

Sir Kodi approached Oliver and asked how one sent a message home.
Oliver called Shooting Star, and she said she would see if Gentle
Breeze could take one out tonight.

"Tell my Mom Joan that I have arrived safe and sound," Sir Kodi said.
"Tell her I love her, and I am feeling much better. I will keep her
memory with me forever. Thank her for taking such good care of me, and
tell her I will write her name on my shield."

Gentle Breeze nodded slightly and turning around, she left with a
silver cloud. The two would deliver Sir Kodi's message tonight.

Angel and Sir Kodi thanked Oliver and No. 421 and the two walked off
down the path. Oliver and No. 421 started back to the cabin. Oliver
just stood and looked at the two ferrets. He had never seen a knighted
ferret before, he had manners, was a smooth talker, and maybe, just
maybe that was what the girl ferrets liked.

No. 421 and Oliver were almost to the cabin when Oliver asked No. 421
if he would mind making supper tonight. Secretly he wanted to practice
that sweeping bow and the hand-kissing thing.

When they arrived, No. 421 put the kettle on for tea, and Oliver went
straight to his room. He shut the door and tried to bend at just the
right angle.

No. 421 took down his logbook and wrote his mission was accomplished.
Sir Kodi had arrived, he was a knighted ferret, and was settled in with
family. He called Oliver and asked him to set the table for supper. No.
421 went out for more firewood and finished the table and served up the
left over N Bones and ferretone tea. No. 421 came in but stopped short
when he saw that Oliver had set the table with napkins and forks. He
had put the food on the table and was sitting down waiting for No. 421.
When he handed Oliver his plate, he said "Thank You" and waiting until
No. 421 sat down, he asked if he could please pass the butter.

No. 421 looked at Oliver -- he was acting so strange. Tomorrow, No. 421
was going to check in on Sir Kodi, make sure he was settled in, and ask
if this was what Knights did?
