I wish to encourage everyone to support the shelters by sending a dollar a
month to at least ten shelters. I have listed the shelters to make it
easier to download the addresses. Easier yet - if you email me and ask - I
will mail you address labels for the Save our Shelters List. If you can
find others to contribute a dollar, the postage stamp will go further. We
all love ferrets or we would not be on this list. Our shelter operators
take in the homeless and sick ferrets. I volunteer at the Ferret Nook.
Seldom does a week go by that Kathy Fritz, the shelter operator, does not
take in an adrenal ferret, ferrets with skin problems, ferrets with
blockages, undiagnosed sick ferrets, and geriatric ferrets. I stopped at
the Ferret Nook last night to find that three ferrets were relinquished
yesterday. Of the three, one of them was adrenal, another had a tumor.
Taking care of these special need ferrets requires lots of money and time.
I am so grateful to all the giving and caring shelter operators that make it
possible for so many of our sweet pets to be given a second chance. Often
it is the ferret's first chance at a nice life. Please help by showing
support for the shelters.
