To Bill and Claire Sebok:

>As some of you may recall, one year ago in May our 3 ferrets, Ben, Jerry, and
>Buttercup, were vaccinated against canine distemper with Fervac-D. Ben and
>Jerry came down with severe anaphylactic reactions. s I see it, the choice
>of distemper vaccine for Ben and Jerry is Galaxy-D (not recommended for
>ferrets) or nothing. Which choice should we follow? DVM's?

Bill - yes- Fervac appears to be out of the question. If they were my ferrets
- I'd go with the Fromm - better than no protection. Make sure that you spend
at least 30 min. in the clinic after the shot, and have Benn and Jerry loaded
up with antihistamines 15-30 minutes before the shot.

Any protection from distemper is better than no protection at all, and
I have only heard of one potential reaction to Fromm-D so far....
