To Bob Jacobs and family... our deepest condolences on the murder of your
beloved Kodo. Although he became everyone's ferret, your family is feeling
the deepest pain. What a wonderful lesson the state of Michigan has taught
your children... follow the law, do the right thing and you'll still get
screwed! Please know that your heartbreak is shared throughout the ferret
community and we mourn with you.

To Bob Church... A call to arms... The need for a national ferret
organization is long overdue. What are we waiting for? How many senseless
ferret murders must take place before we say ENOUGH?!

Why can't the existing ferret organizations put aside their differences and
band together to get the laws changed? Am I mad... you bet! Am I
frightened... yeah! How in the world can we educate people about our
incredible, loving furkids if we have to keep them out of reach, hidden in
the closet as it were?

I am willing to pledge $100.00 to the formation of a national ferret
organization and $50.00 per year for membership. What we need is a lobbying
group on a nationwide scale to get our babies protected from ancient laws
and opinions of the powers that be, a fair rabies quarantine, a group with
some teeth in it to get the job done. We need lawyers, vets, and people
with political clout and savvy to work together. As a group we can be
formidable... if we are willing to do this together we can win! Let's get
going while the momentum is there.

Anyone willing to match my pledge? Anyone willing to get the ball rolling?

Diane
