There was an article posted today by Sukie encouraging people to gently
speak with council members regarding legalization of ferrets in Kansas.
This is a MISUNDERSTANDING. Ferrets are legal in Kansas. There are NO
restrictions at all in owning them. There is a LARGE population of
ferrets here in Wichita, as they are sold in almost every pet store
across the county and the rest of KS. There are always ferrets in the
paper for free here and they show up at the humane society frequently.

So to recap. there's NO ban on ferrets in Wichita, or the rest of
Kansas for that matter.

Here is the story in regard to the ban of new wallabies. Old ones can
stay. Other large exotics, such as pot belly pigs, tigers, lions, etc.
have been banned within the city limits. This does NOT pertain in any
way to ferrets.
