Another idea for saving your dryer from being scratched up by ferret
bedding hardware is to put it in a sneaker drying bag.  This is a mesh
bag that attaches to the *door* of the dryer...the stuff in the bag gets
the heat from the dryer, but doesn't actually tumble around in there
with the rest of the stuff.
 
Alternatively, they could just be hung up over the shower curtain
or clothes line or backyard fence and air dryed.  (OK, so this is
techinically *two* dryer saving ideas...two for the price of one.
See what a great bargain the FML is?).
