The best place I found to get melatonin is "The Vitamin Shoppe".
There are several stores in my area, but they are also on-line at
<www.VitaminShoppe.com>.
 
I just purchased a 240 capsule bottle (3 mg) of the house brand (Vitamin
Shoppe) for $14.97, and I mix 1 and 1/2 capsules (4.5 mg) in Bob C's
Chicken Gravy for my 5 fuzzies each night.  I like the capsules - they
are a fine powder - no grinding, no alcohol, just pop them open and mix
into the Bob C's ... They will take anything mixed in Bob C's ... even
proglycem or Flagyl ... Now if someone could put my mind at ease as to
how a 1.5 - 3 lb ferret can handle 1 mg of melatonin when the adult human
dose is 3 mg, it would make me feel a lot better about such a "whopping
dose" ...
