I have giving ferrets medicines for years. Usually when I have been
given metronidazole it has been in combination with amoxicillin.
Ferrets usually like the flavored amoxicillin but we all know the
lengths they will go to spit out the metronidazole with pawing of
the mouth etc.

In the past I have done okay with the combo. But this time my Diva spit
out every bit of the metronidazole to the point that none got down her.

I came up with a solution which worked for me. I put the dose of the
metronidazole into the top of another syringe. Then I draw up the
amoxicillin at the bottom of the same syringe. She spits out nothing
now. By the time she tastes the good stuff at the bottom she has
swallowed the nasty before she even knows it.

Inge
