** Chris: I sent this on the 24th and got no response, so here it is again **

[The one from the 24th actually arrived today, AFTER this copy.]

This weekend I paid a visit to my Mom's place. She loves to see Snoopy so
I brought my little fuzzy along for the trip. Once we got got there Snoopy
made sure all her usual hiding spots were still in tact and made a dash for
her food only to scurry it off underneath my mother's china cabinet to eat
and take a power nap.

The next evening I looked for Snoop to give her a treat and put her in the
ferret-proof bathroom before we headed to the movies. I couldn't find her
right away so I figured she was fast asleep in one of her secret napping
places. So... we hurridly left to catch our late movie.

After returning I noticed she did not run out to greet us as she normally
would. We looked and called and shook her food bowl and whistled and knocked
on all the furniture that she could sleep under. Still no Snoopy.

I thought I could faintly hear the bell on her collar while I was looking
but I passed it off as noise from my keychain. Then, I walked around the
outside of the house and I KNEW I could hear her bell. The jingle was coming
from INSIDE the walls! I thought..."This is bad, real bad". I thumped the
wall where I could hear her running back and forth. I knew she knew I was out
there. She was scratching frantically at the walls while I was trying to
figure out how to get her out.

...scratch scratch scratch... The wall was only accessable from the outside
by the porch. Finding no other solution, I ripped mom's new siding off the
wall and pounded a hole in the wood underneath it. Sure enough I had chosen
the right place to make the hole and Snoopy crawled out. Other than being
cold as a carrot in a crisper, she was o.k. I think I was a whole lot more
scared than her!

My conclusion is that she crawled up the attic stairs and made one too many
snoops playing in the insulation, then fell down to the 2nd floor. She
only appeared to have been there for an hour or two at most. It was so cold
I don't think she could have been there much longer. Thank goodness for
the bell on her collar or I may have never found her. Mom got over her
torn up wall. I hope she still likes Snoopy :\

Keep bells on your buddies!
