Hi.  We have been ferret owners for about 6 weeks now.  The 1st was a
present for my daughter for Christmas.  And you know what happened then...
Of course he needed a playmate!  So I got one for my birthday... Is this
the ferret math I've been reading about?  They are both males from Petco,
12 and 8 weeks old.  I think mine is deaf.  I have corresponded with
Wolfy, and visited the deaf ferret website, and got a lot of good info on
deafness.
 
Anyway..I have several questions.  How can I get them introduced to meat?
I have offered pieces of chicken, made one of the recipes from Ferrets for
Dummies, and they won't even try it.  They are currently on Zupreem (?)
food, and are eating that very well, but I'd like to vary their diet with
other protein.
 
2nd question.  We live in the NY Hudson Valley.  Are there any others out
there from here?  I haven't found any ferret clubs local.  Also, any
recommendations for vets?  We have been getting all of our ferret education
from the Dummies book, a very knowledgable person at Petco, and this list..
Although I hope I won't need use a lot of the medical knowledge from here
for LONG time.
