Greetings from the great white north!! We are finally digging out from
under the 14" of snow that fell Saturday night. The snow in our parking lot
was past my knees! (and I'm not short) There are 4-foot drifts in our
backyard. Boomer has been staring out the window and sighing - his
not-so-subtle way of saying he's feeling neglected and unloved because he
can't go outside. But it's a little too cold for ferrets - and humans, for
that matter. Today, it's a balmy 0 degrees. BTW, a great use for those old
socks with holes in the heel...ferret snowsuits! Just cut the foot part
off, and cut legholes in the top part. I did this with our old wool socks,
and that's what Bongo and Boomer wear outside. Takes them a while to get
used to it, but once they figure out they have to wear it to be in the snow,
they learn to live with it!

Bongo did an interesting/weird thing yesterday. She was playing with a ping
pong ball (one of her favorite toys), and she wrapped her front paws around
it, kind of 'hugged' it, and started scooting backwards with it. She went
all the way around the living room, under the couch and back out again like
that. She does that a lot with her toys, and Boomer has done it, but not as
often. Anyone else ever seen this??
