Hi, everyone. Some of the following may be offensive to some but its intent
is informational. I live with 3 cats and Molly the ferret. I know, another
ferret named Molly! She and the cats get along well. She loves to play
chase games with them. They try to stay barely out of her reach :) She is
very gentle and never bites when playing with people ( she knows we have
poor quality fur ) The cats she can get a little rougher with!

I used to raise snakes and raise mice and rats to feed them. Occasionally
when cleaning the rodent cages, one would escape, much to the joy of the
cats! But it was usually the ferret that got the mouse. Molly can out hunt
any of the cats and has far less experience. I've never seen her make the
actual kill but whenever I got to her and the mouse, it's belly was open.
She was also defensive of her prey. Whenever the cats got near her and her
prey, she would stop what she was doing and give them the stare they
understand means "back off" Sometimes she resorted to Torpedoing one of
them, which is were she rushes them and head butts them.( happens around the
food bowl sometimes!)

Molly had adrenal surgery a couple of months ago and is doing great. Before
surgery, she was losing hair, had a much stronger smell, started using lots
of new corners, slept alot and when awake was very affectionate but no
longer playful. She has regrown her hair. barely smells like a ferret,
full of energy and back to using her favorite few corners. I have a large
house. She picks her corners and I put newspaper there:) Works for us.
