Trina,

I have made things in the past where I needed to have a flexible
support and what I used were the banding straps from the lumber pallets
at the Home depot store. As long as the pocket they fit in provides the
shape they will support a pretty good load. Go to any building products
or other store where they receive products on pallets. The strapping
they use to secure the product to the pallet is about 3/4" wide
reinforced plastic. It is easy to work with and most places will be
glad to give it to you for free. Hope that helps
