Have you seen your vet yet?  That is probably the first and foremost
important thing to do.
 
Did your ferret throw up or was it a hairball?  I have heard that they
can't cough up hairballs like cats and that is why they are so dangerous.
A bowel obstruction can be from hair or ingested rubber, foam, cloth (just
to name a few) You said you gave him ferret-tone, I don't think that has
any laxative effect to help remove obstructions.  You need something like
Ferret-Lax or I've heard you could use a kitty hairball remover too.  The
active ingredient is petroleum jelly so I guess if he would eat that you
could use it.  But there is absolutely no guarantee that it will alleviate
the problem, seeing a vet is your best option.
 
Also if he threw up, it could be an intestinal problem.  Possibly ECE?
Has his poops been green and slimy?  Bird seedy poops can be from many
things, but means that food and fat are not being properly digested and
absorbed, and that's not good.  Maybe switching to a bland diet such as
Gerber's Chicken baby food might be helpful.  It is much easier to digest.
 
We have been through both a bowel obstruction and possibly ECE. I know
