Hopefully i can inform you a bit more.  I have been selling these kind of
sheets for several years.  There are two types: acrylic sheets and
polycarbonate sheets.  Acrylic sheets (brandnames Plexiglass and Perspex).
Polycarbonate (brandname Lexan).  Normally acrylic is UV-protected against
the sun.  Polycarbonate is available in not UV-protected and in an
UV-protected form.  Differences between these types are: they say
polycarbonate is "unbreakable" but at least twice as expensive.
 
Acrylic is deliverable in many colours and Polycarbonate not.  We ourselves
use 3mm thick acrylic for blocking dooropenings.  I make the size about 10
mm larger and bend it a little between the 2 doorposts.  If you have more
