Just got home to a wild celebration of ferrets who seemed they might have
missed me somewhat.  I think they only enjoyed the exotic smells on my leds
and shoes, but I will pretend it was me they were really interested in.
 
Chicago was a lot of fun and I met a lot of really nice ferret people.
Mostly I vegetated while listening to boring papers being read by boring
people, so the evening ferret fixes were more than welcome, even if many
of the discussions went into the early hours.  Saw lots of fat and sassy
ferts, including a somewhat cute Ruskie who looks like he wears eye shadow
instead of a mask.  Almost as cute as my own ferts.  Almost.
 
I was unable to check my email while in Chicago, so didn't see several
requests that I stop by and visit until I returned home.  I'm sorry.  If
it helps, I will be back in Chicago for research later in the year, and
will place you guys at the top of my visiting list.  The next archaeology
meetings will be held in Philadelphia, April 5-9, 2000, and yes, I'll be
there to give yet another paper.
 
It seems that my chicken gravy is becoming quite popular; my email box has
dozens of inquiries, I'll sort through them in the next day or so, and send
in another post with the answers.  I've now seen scores of ferrets (other
than my own) who are eating the stuff, and they are doing fantastic.  One
person even showed me before and after shots of their ferrets, and the
change in their coats and body condition are incredible in a couple of
cases.  Try it, you'll like it.
