Thank you everyone for your replies and suggestions on the blenders.
Suggestions came in for Oster blenders and the Vitamix blenders as they
do not have the plastic rubber parts like mine do. I did find someone
on ebay that sells parts for my Kitchen Aid, which I totally love as it
is a ice crusher too. Now I have to see if my husband can get the parts
off the old one, when he gets a chance to see if he can repair it. My
kitchen Aid has done a bang up job on grinding the bones into pure
gravy. I only use the softened part of the bones as well as scrape all
the marrow out of the bones (such as turkey bones) that do not soften
but usually all do. I put the chicken, a package of gizzards, a
container of chicken livers and usually 3 lbs of ground turkey or
additional chicken or turkey legs into a very large crockpot and let it
cook on low for about 20-24 hours or so and I have to add more water as
I use a lot to soften the kibble. I make my gravy a bit different from
the original. I use just the meat and more kibble as I am feeding 9
ferrets this soup right now and I make enough to last for 2 weeks (put
in containers in the freezer) and take out to thaw in the fridge 1 day
before I need it. I have found this the best way for me and then I just
grind the meat, set aside in a big bowl and put a few big scoops of
kibble in the crockpot that is all enriched broth and cover and let it
sit till it softens (usually about an hour or so) I then add the pureed
meat to the kibble in the crock and mix it and then reblend and puree
it all and pour into plastic freezable containers. When I serve it, I
set up the small individual glass bowls and put a tsp of Marshalls
ground up kibble (coffee grinder) and 1 tsp or so of Evo (also ground
up), add a couple Tablespoons of the gravy, add boiling water to thin,
add a drop or two of Vivify (by totally ferret) and mix and serve when
it cools a little, each kid gets their own little bowl. One of my brats
likes to sit in my lap and be spoon fed, so I do it, yes he has me
trained. Twice a day the kids get their soup. (My inolinomic/IBD guy
gets a totally different soup and gets fed 3x daily)

We are redoing our ferret room to make room for our two new kids Uno
and Twitch (formerly DMK Ohio ferts). The kids are at a friend's house
and let me tell you, what a wonderful job Michele has done working with
all these precious ferrets! Thank you so much Michele! Thank you too
Diane for all you do and taking the kids in. We just went and picked
up some beautiful heavy duty Armstrong linoleum with a poly finish (15
year guarantee) and hubby is going to put up a dark strip of rubber
around the edges to keep the ferrets from pooping on the woodwork. We
almost did not make it to Home Depot tonight as on the way, I saw eyes
reflecting in the road. As we got closer, it was a small cat. I thought
by the reflection of the eyes that it was still alive. My husband
turned around to protect the cat from getting hit anymore and I went
over to scoop her out of the road and she tried to move. I scooped her
up and we rushed about 5 miles to the closest 24 hour vet in our area.
She was still alive and moved when we hit bumps and I could hear her
gasping. I talked to her gently all the way, hoping not to terrify her.
I hoped that we would make it ( if not at least she wouldn't die laying
on a cold road watching cars go by). All of a sudden she lost her
bodily fluids and I no longer heard her breathe. Her paws were starting
to get cool, we were only about 2 miles if even, from the vet. We
rushed her in but she was gone. They were so good there, they
immediately rushed her in. She was a long haired gorgeous calico. Don't
know if she was feral or someone's pet, did not have time to knock on
doors. The vet said she had no signs of being spayed. (It is hard for
me to write as my eyes are filling up and tears falling). Anyway, I
decided to take my jacket off because she had gone on it and I washed
up at the vets and we went on to get the flooring. I came home and told
my cats, that they just do not know how lucky they are!, or do they?
The same goes for all animals that have a home, shelter and someone to
love them. They are the lucky ones just as we are to have them in our
lives.

Eleanor, Donald and the 10 pack, waiting on Uno and Twitch
