Did anyone catch the segment about the NJ Ferret situation on the Court TV
News last night? (6/18) My wife was able to record about 2-3 minutes of it
for me, about enough to really infuriate me.

It featured Grant Kozak with a very smug smirk on his face, seemingly
enjoying the camera attention. And his father stating "You just cannot
understand this situation unless you are in it". Court TV showed the first
judge rendering his decision ("I cannot order the destruction of these
animals. I won't do it."), and Grant's fathers "utter shock" at this.

I did like some of Court Tv's choices of phrasing, such as "The ferrets were
killed", rather than "euthanized". Also, they made sure to mention that the
ferrets, of course, tested negative for rabies (Duh!). And you really
couldn't help but feel very sad for David Revere, as he is holding and
petting one of his remaining ferrets.

But the really infuriating part was at the very end when the announcer
states that "Grant Kozak is in perfect health and still intends to purchase
a companion for the ferret he already has". I have a few things to say
about Mr. Kozak right now, but I'm not going to share them with you. :-)

I was thinking about trying to transcribe what I have recorded of the
interview, if anyone is interested? I'd also like to know what I missed if
anyone else caught it? My tape starts at the part where David Revere was
saying something like "He was at my house and when he left everything was
fine."

Enraged by this tragedy, my letters to Judge Humphreys and Governor Whitman
are probably on their desks right now,
