On my way home through Andover, Kansas, I stopped at the Dollar General
Store. Unfortunately, a new store has opened next door--Exotic Pets.
Ordinarily I would have walked on by, but after having been on this list
so long I decided to go in.

They have everything from puppies and snakes to 3 ferrets that look
almost like they are clones of each other-- probably out of the same
litter. The ferrets are in a single level wire cage with a plastic
bottom. The bottom is covered with wood shavings. There are no litter
boxes. They have an imitation hollow log in the center for the ferrets
to go under but it could fit one at the most and he'd be hanging out at
both ends. They have bottled water and food in a dish, and as they are
selling Marshall's food, I suspect the ferrets are from Marshalls also.
They look and act old enough to be away from their mom. They were $139
each. Next time I go to Dollar General I will go next door and check on
the ferrets again. Here's hoping Exotic Pets goes out of business by
Christmas. I know that I won't be buying anything from them unless it
is at their closeout sale.
