From my experience ferrets sleeps A LOT.  We let our s out to play and
they will go nuts for about an hour then find dark places to hide.  I
have noticed that they will play less if we, their charges, do not play
with them.  The more active you are with them, the longer they tend to
play.  If they stop eating, then you know there is a problem.
