Yes, the new product called Capstar is a tablet that is giving to kill
fleas.  It states that it takes about 30 minutes to be absorbed into the
bloodstream and to start killing fleas.  2 problems with Capstar:
1) it only last for 24-36 hours and 2) we do not know if it safe for
ferrets yet.
 
It would basically have to be giving daily to be effective in controlling a
flea problem, so I would suggest Frontline or Advantage for flea control.
Capstar is made by Novartis.
